Day-to-day work
Daily logs: a site diary for every job
Write down what actually happened on site today: the weather, who was there, what got done, what held you up, who visited and anything safety-related. Save it as a draft while the day is still moving, publish it when it's settled.
Daily logs are on the Crew and Company plans. On Solo you won't see the tab.
Works the same whether the job lives in the native CRM or came in through HubSpot.
Where it lives
Open a deal, click Site in the row of section buttons, then Daily log.
Field accounts get it too: open the job and the Daily log tab is there beside Schedule. Field crew are the people actually on site, so the daily log is their written record of the day. Anything that needs the office to act on it belongs in a site issue on their to-do list instead.
Writing a log
Click New daily log. The date defaults to today in your company's timezone; change it if you're catching up on yesterday. Fill in whichever of the six sections apply; none of them are required, so a two-line log is a perfectly good log.
One log per person per day per job. If you already have a log for that date on that job, you'll be told so rather than ending up with two. Two different people can each write their own log for the same day. A foreman and a chippy will see the day differently, and both records are worth having.
Drafts and publishing
A new log starts as a draft: yours to keep editing. Publish turns it into the record: it shows up in the job's activity history with your name and the date. You can still correct a published log afterwards, and when you do, the entry shows who changed it and when, so nothing is quietly rewritten.
Looking back through the diary
The tab opens on the 30 most recent entries: enough for the job you're standing on, not the whole history of a two-year build. Pick a Month to go further back and the tab fetches that month from the server rather than filtering what's already on screen.
A busy month runs past one screenful, so when there's more of it, a Load more days button appears under the list and keeps going until the month is exhausted. Clear the month picker to come back to the recent view.
Who can see and change what
Office staff and field crew can read every daily log on a job they can open. You can edit your own logs; a company owner can edit any of them. Logs can't be deleted from the app yet: a published log is a record, and correcting it (which stays attributed) is the way to fix one.
Clients never see daily logs. There is no client-portal view of them, on purpose. If you want to share something from a log with a client, put it in the portal yourself.
Not in this release
No photos or file attachments yet, and no import from BuilderTrend. Both are deliberate: we wanted the written record working first.
