Logged emails on a deal

Who can use it. Every staff member sees logged emails on a deal. Hiding and moving them needs the Manage logged emails permission; owners have it, and an owner can give it to other staff on the Team page. Clients never see logged emails. It may not be switched on for your business yet. If you can't see it, give us a yell.

Where to find them

Open a deal. Logged emails sit in the Activity section on the Overview tab, in date order with everything else. Each one shows whether it was sent or received, who it's from, the subject and the first few lines.

Click the subject to open the email. You'll see the whole text, who it went to and who was copied in, and the names and sizes of any attachments. Only the plain text version is shown. If an email was encrypted, only the subject and the people on it were logged.

When an email landed on the wrong deal

If you have the Manage logged emails permission, each email has two buttons:

  • Hide from this deal takes it off this deal only. It stays on any other deal it was logged to. Change your mind straight away with Undo.
  • Move to deal opens a short list. The client's own deals come first, including closed ones, newest first. Type in the search box to find any other deal. Pick one and the email moves there. Tick Also keep it here if it belongs on both.

Nothing is ever deleted. To see emails you've hidden, tick Show hidden emails at the top of the Activity section. Hidden ones are marked, and Unhide puts them back.
